First Aid at Work Course, Three Day Training

Bandaging a handThis three day first aid at work course holds a level 3 certification and is designed to train staff and individuals who need to meet the requirements set out in the First Aid at Work regulations (1981). This is a ProTrainings qualification and this qualification is delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines set out by the HSE in October 2013 and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981.

This course is conducted over three days, 18 contact hours. The course is delivered using a variety of teaching methods which include DVD, Power point presentations, lectures and discussions as well as hands on practice, this helps to ensure that information is retained so that on completion of the course the candidates are competent, confident and able to deal with an emergency situation should it arise.

This regulated qualification is provided through an awarding organisation that is recognised and regulated by one of the UK regulators (e.g. Ofqual in England, SQA accreditation in Scotland). The certificate of achievement awarded to successful candidates will contain the logo of RQF Awarding Body for Compliance and the relevant UK regulators along with the full qualification title and number.

  • Initial Assessment, Unconscious Breathing and Recovery Position
  • Cardiac Problems, The Heart, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Heart Attacks and CPR
  • One Rescuer CPR, Chest Only Compressions, CPR Handover to a Second Rescuer, Introduction to AED’s
  • Adult Choking, Conscious and Unconscious, Serious Bleeding Management, Shock Management and types of Shock
  • Spinal Injury Management, Specific Injury Management
  • Injury Assessment, Breaks, Fractures and Splinting, Strains and Sprains
  • Types of Wounds and Practice Bandaging different Injuries
  • Embedded Objects, Burns and Scalds, Head Injuries
  • Temperature Injuries, Heat Stroke, Heat Exhaustion and Hypothermia
  • Eye Injuries, Bites and Stings, Crush Injuries, Chest Injuries, Electrical Injuries, Illness Management
